Career Guidance & Placement (CGPU)

The Career Guidance and Placement Unit (CGPU) / Placement Cell was established in the institute 1998 onwards. The CGPU interact with reputed organizations all over the country and abroad for arranging campus interviews for all the eligible final year students. The Career Guidance & Placement Unit is intended primarily to assist students in their career planning and provides information that helps the students to give a direction to their aspirations and interests. The CGPU believes in timely counseling and arrange training sessions that enhances the students to compete with the best challenges in Industry. Career counseling programs are undertaken periodically by the placement coordinator to guide the students. Interactive sessions by the eminent persons from industries in respective fields are conducted regularly.

Induction and Orientation program for the first year students

Arrange branch specific value added certificate courses to enhance their skill.

Programmes to improve Presentation skills.

Vocational training.

To improve the industry – institute relationships through collaborative projects.

Mock test and Interviews.

Company specific training for recruitment.

Preparations to Competitive exams and higher studies like GATE, CAT, GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, etc.

Foreign language training

To enhance the student’s interest towards the entrepreneurship and business strategies.

We also conduct job fairs to help and support other college eligible students.

Dr. Shyji completed his B.Tech (1997), M.Tech (2001) and PhD (2019) in Mechanical Engineering from University of Kerala. He joied the college in March 2001 as Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering and is continuing as Associate professor. During his past 22 years of service in the college, he enjoyed the duties of the Convenor-Centre for continuing Education(CCE), Member - Academic Council, Member - TEQIP committee, Head - Innovation Centre for the retrofitting of the Diesel bus to Electric Bus, member - PG Board of Studies(KTU), representative of KTU - PG Board of studies of Mar Baselios College of Engineering etc. He is a life member of ISTE and ISHMT. He has a quite pretty number of technical publications in International Journals and presented topics in International Conferences.
