Dr. Subu Surendran

Dr. Subu Surendranis Professor of Computer Science at Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering. With more than twenty years of academic and administrative experience, he has been instrumental in strengthening the institution’s academic standards and accreditation processes.

He earned his B.E. in Computer Science & Engineering from MS University, Tirunelveli (1997), followed by an M.Tech in Computer Science with specialization in Digital Image Computing from the University of Kerala (2005). He completed his Ph.D. in Web Mining at the University of Kerala in 2017.

Dr. Surendran began his career at SCT College of Engineering in 2001 as Lecturer, rising to Associate Professor in 2006 and Professor in 2017. He also served as Head of the Department of Computer Science from April 2018 to April 2021. Before joining SCT, he gained valuable experience at the National Institute of Technology, Calicut; Manipal Institute of Technology; and the College of Applied Science, Adoor (IHRD).

His academic contributions include six journal publications and twelve conference papers. He has taught a wide range of subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, such as Data Structures, Compiler Design, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Graphics, Digital Image Processing, Database Design, Algorithms, Computational Geometry, and Data Mining.

An active member of the Computer Society of India (CSI), Dr. Surendran currently serves as the Public Information Officer of the college. He has also held key roles as Coordinator for NBA Accreditation and Coordinator for IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell), reflecting his commitment to institutional development and quality assurance.
