Dean planning and development is in charge of formulating the expansion and diversification plan of institutional activities, and the Institute's future vision for infrastructure enhancement. The dean is also responsible for Preparation of all developmental and maintenance proposals,monitoring the progress and utilization of funds.

Dr. Arun M. is an experienced academician currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram. He joined the institution in October 2009 and has over 15 years of teaching experience in engineering education.
He holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Kannur University, an M.Tech in Industrial Refrigeration and Cryogenic Engineering from the University of Kerala (securing first rank), and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kerala.
Dr. Arun’s areas of academic interest include Heat and Mass Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and Thermal Engineering. His research contributions mainly focus on cryogenic methane, heat transfer, and rocket engine cooling systems. He has published several papers in reputed international journals and conferences, many indexed in SCOPUS.
In addition to teaching and research, he actively participates in academic and administrative responsibilities. He has coordinated faculty development programs, contributed to funded research projects, and held various roles such as Convenor of the Staff Welfare Committee, Returning Officer for college union elections, and Nodal Officer for anti-drug awareness initiatives.
Dr. Arun is also a life member of the Indian Society for Heat and Mass Transfer (ISHMT), reflecting his engagement with professional bodies and continued commitment to his field.
